The scent is woven with sparkling bergamot zest, wrapped in creamy orange flower and warm enveloping musk. See below the top, heart and base notes that make up this classic, yet modern chypre:
Top Notes: bergamot, lemon, sweet orange and neroli
Heart Notes: jasmine, rose, osmanthus and ylang ylang
Base Notes: patchouli, amber, musk and vanilla
What is a Chypre?
First, how to say it: ‘sheep-ra’. Chypre’ (French for Cyprus) is the name of a family of perfumes that are characterised by an accord composed of fresh, citrus top notes, a dash of floral sweetness in the heart and a mossy, woody or herbaceous base.
The number one identifying factor of a Chypre fragrance is the predominantly green bouquet, for although a Chypre may contain floral notes, it is not a floral perfume.
Our Chypress Eau de Toilette is modern and accessible. The fragrance retains its characteristic of earthiness from the musk and patchouli in the base notes, but the unusual combination of orange flower and bergamot, along with subtle touches of rose and osmanthus gives this fragrance a modern juxtaposition of creaminess and sparkle.
