London Craft Week, now in its third year, is an annual five-day event which showcases innovative and creative British craftsmanship in and around London. We were delighted to take part this year with a very special workshop called The Art of Fragrance Blending.

Guests were given an introduction to the brand in the newly renovated shop by the 9th generation of the Floris family, Edward Bodenham, who were then taken into the very back of the building, into the perfumery where they were greeted by the Floris perfumer, Nicola Pozzani.

Our perfumery has been at the heart of the business from the very early days of Floris whereby fragrances were hand-poured into perfume bottles to then be sold at the front of the store.

Nowadays, our perfumery is used to hold bespoke fragrance creation sessions for customers as well as for development on our By Request range. To find out more about our bespoke service, please click here.

This evening, guests were taken on a journey through scent, learning about bespoke fragrance creation and how it has developed and transformed over the years, whilst being treated to an exclusive behind the scenes pouring of our latest By Request fragrance,  which will be launching in July.

Guests were shown the process of fragrance creation with a demonstration of how our By Request fragrances, designed and produced in-house, are created from scratch. From the base notes to the top notes, guests experienced every note that goes into a perfume, and were then able to take away a 20ml bottle at the end of the evening.

If you didn’t get a chance to purchase a ticket for this workshop, we will have a number of workshops coming up in the future, so do keep an eye out.
